Three offensive players try to work together to beat one defender in this drill. In a 3-on-1 situation, the defender should stay in the middle if the puck is in the middle. If the puck is not in the middle the defender should slightly favor the puck carrier’s side of the ice.
Players practice one-touch passing in this fundamental drill. Players need to have “soft hands” otherwise the puck will shoot off their stick too quickly and won’t be accurate.
Pairs of offensive and defensive players learn to work together to beat the other side in this high-paced drill.
Players work on beating the goalie in this drill. If the goalie is out of the net, the offensive player should look to fake and then shoot. If the goalie is deep in the net, the offensive player should aim for the corners or the five-hole area.
